Essential Oil Practitioner Diploma
Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology
This Diploma is taught over the course of 12 months and cost is £1,600. a deposit of £100 is required to secure your place, following the interview and the balance can be paid by monthly installments to be arranged.
Course Structure and Training
A brief interview will be required before your acceptance on the course. You must hold an approved Anatomy and Physiology qualification at Level 3 or above to take this course. (Alternatively you can do your A&P with me alongside this diploma for an extra £350)
You will be required to attend 24 classes held either in person or by Zoom.
Pass 2 exams:
Essential Oils (written)
Theory (written)
You will be required to submit regular homework’s.
You will have up to 3 months after your exams to submit 60 hours of client assessments/case studies before the award of your Diploma.
The 3 months also allows you time to re-sit any exam which you might not have passed.
Your course fees include your tuition, exam fees, training manuals, oils and sundries required during training.
Most of the theory training will be done via online live classroom time but will also be incorporated into face to face training as required.

Techniques, theory and contraindications to working with essential oils.
The study of 57 essential oils covering their:
• Application
• Storage and handling
• Mixing, blending and dosage
• Methods of extraction
• Top, middle and base notes of oils
• What essential oils do
• Essential oil contraindications
• Toxicity, irritation and sensitisation
• Psychotherapy and adaptogen essential oils
• Synergistic blends
• Adaptogen Essential Oils
• Technical terms for essential oils
Setting up your treatment room
Personal hygiene
Client care
Therapist attitude
What not to do when giving a treatment

You will also cover menopause, pregnancy, babies and children, the elderly and men in the application of the Essential Oils.
The 57 Main Essential Oils
Basil (Linalool), Benzoin, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cedarwood (Himalayan), Cananga, Chamomile (Roman), Clary-Sage, Cypress, Dill, Elemi, Eucalyptus (Globulus), Fir Needle, Fragonia, Frankincense (Carteri), Galangal, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Guaiacwood, Imortelle, Jasmine (Absolute), Juniper, Katafray, Kunzea, Lavender (English), Lemon, Lime, Linaloe, Mandarin, Marjoram, May Chang, Melissa, Mimosa, Myrrh, Myrtle, Neroli, Niaouli, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Plai, Rose (Absolute), Rosalina, Rosemary, Rosewood, Sage, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Sweet Orange, Tagetes, Tangerine, Tea-Tree, Thyme, Vetivert, and Ylang-Ylang.
These oils will be studied following the model of looking at emotional, mental as well as physical ailments. This course will focus especially on the mental and emotional uses of essential oils. Taught this way, the therapist will have personally experienced a working model to evaluate the oils required to use in blends to help their future clients.
Essential Oils but are a study requirement as per the core curriculum.
8 Carrier Oils
Including Sweet Almond, Sunflower, Jojoba, Safflower, Grapeseed, Coconut, Peach Kernal, Rosehip.
This range of carrier oils gives a broad base of ‘base products’ for the practitioner to use the most appropriate to add the Essential Oils to for application.
10 Hydrosols
Lavender, Rose, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Cypress, Jasmine, Neroli, Melissa, Sage and Thyme.
The student will study their individual properties and how to add Essential Oils to them. We will also focus on the fact that the hydrosols are safer than the contraindications of the corresponding essential oils.
This course is taught over 6 or 12 months as outlined below and costs £500. However, if you are studying a diploma course with me or with Jane Lawson at Natural Approach School, I will do this for you at £350. A £50 deposit is required to secure you place, following an interview and the balance can be paid by monthly installments to be arranged.
This course is taught either online live or in person (if local). It is taught from the text book ‘The Natural Approach to Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology’ by Jane Lawson. This manual is included in the price of the course and will be posted out to you upon receipt of your deposit.
It is taught either with five sessions covering 2 systems each class or 10 sessions covering one system at a time. We will cover the 10 major systems of the body: Circulatory, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Nervous, Muscular, Skeletal, Endocrine, Digestive, Intergumentary and Elimination systems. We also cover common pathologies of each system. (illnesses and diseases)
You will be required to complete 5 homework assignments covering all the lessons taught and at the end to pass a 3 hour written exam before being awarded your ceretificate.
This course meets the required standard as set out on the National Core Curriculum. As such it allows you to go on to train in various Complementary Therapies and to be certified to practice them.
